Vintage Sizing

Vintage sizing does not match modern sizing. A garment tagged a size 10 from the 1960s will typically fit like a modern size 4 to 6. Always go by measurements, never by the tag.

How to measure

Bust: measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level.
Waist: measure around your natural waistline, usually the narrowest point.
Hips: measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Length: compare against a garment you own that fits the way you like.

Many archive product pages list the piece's measurements. Where a piece shows no measurements, email us and we will measure it for you before you order. Lay a garment you love flat, measure it the same way, and compare — that is the most reliable fit check for one-of-one vintage.

Fit notes

Vintage fabrics often have little to no stretch. If you are between measurements, the larger option is the safer choice. All archive sales are final, so take a moment with the tape measure before you order.
